hey thinking about getting a neogeo home system for xmas. been looking around and consdier getting off of ebay, but my parents are really into the whole ebay thing so they refuse to give me money to buy from there. so i called up buyrite1 and asked how much there neogeo's go for and he said $549 with metal slug 3. what do guys think? i've botton stuff from them many times and have had no problems. got my import dc, games, and some imported super nes games from the already. also i had a question about the phantom1. do i need a dbug chip/bios chip or what ever to use it? i've heard on metal slug games you only get so many credits, how does that work on fighting games? thanks in advance <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I wouldn't recommend Buy Rite. Speaking from personal experience, I haven't had any problems with Buy Rite in terms of receiving everthing on time, it's just that they've been known to do business with NGF. If you end up with anything from NGF, it's bound to be a fake, from what I heard. Buy Rite also likes to put their stickers on Neo Geo games and systems. Fortunately, it's not on the instruction manuals or inserts. These are no ordinary stickers. If you try to remove them, it'll say "VOID" all over where the sticker used to be. Fortunately, elbow grease and Goo Gone will eliminate that problem, but I would not recommend Slime Rite.

That price for an AES with Metal Slug 3 isn't a bad price, but it's not a great one either. Since I live around the corner from their retail location, I would have probably gotten that package if they had offered it to me at that price (I was told $800, for MS3 and a KOF games) but as many will tell you here, don't deal with their online branch. I have the lucky ability that I can walk in and LOOK at the cart to make sure there isn't a NGF sticker or some other crap like that before making the purchase, but you probably don't have that luxury.

Probably the best place to get the system is either on Ebay, or right here in the Selling Forum. You'll be able to get it quicker on Ebay (lots of systems for sale at any given time) but if you are patient you know that most of the sellers on the forums treat their systems and games with lots of love.

Finally, Nikke sells systems pretty cheap at http://www1.ocn.ne.jp/~kaiten/frame1.htm but be warned: Shipping from Japan is pretty expensive, but when I ordered some games from him, they arrived in less than a week.

Hi I have some questions to, do you guys think I should get a front load cd, Top load cd, or CD-Z neo system, I'd appreciate anybodys serious opinion. I want a cart system, but I'm 15 and cant afford to pay 300 dollars for games I'd like on it like metal slug 3 and kof 2k, i can handle cd load times, and playing games not past kof 99, I've got Garou MotW and LB 2 for Jap DC, hopefully they'll put MS 3 on DC, I doubt that though. well anyway, please give your opinions and tips

There is no AES only. MS3 is an expensive game and you can buy your system with cheaper games.

If you want a collectible item then go with the CDZ or better the front loading (rarest),
but if you want just play the best choice is the Top loading system; it's the most reliable choice (CDZ has lot of loading problems with 'high megs count' games)
