Who remembers back in the day of pokemon gold and silver. Iv head alot of pokemon fans tell me these were the best pokemon games made. Wether you happened to like the night and day feature or like the 2 leages. I'm sure all gold and silver fan will be looking forward to the remakes on the ds. I my self wonder why they didnt have all these nice features in the sequals.

I preferred Red/Blue. Gold and Silver just seemed to add a lot of stuff you could really only get by random chance or by following stats that it doesnt tell you (happiness points) and things like that.

Lot's of superfluous side games you had to complete to get certain items (kind of like the club house in diamond and pearl).

The only real new things I liked was the cell phone where you could meet with people you had fought earlier and the day/night changes.

Other than that it just seemed to be harder to level in and more of a chore.

Well i never relly saw it that way my self. I was more of a fan of the 2 leagues so you would have alot more game play time for your money.

It'll be interesting to play the DS version. At the time Gold/Silver originally came out I was already exhausted with Pokemon R/B, so it didn't hold my attention. Now that I've skipped the past few Pokemon games, I'm interested to see how this one turns out.

I always liked the idea that they included the world from R/B (can't recall the name) after you beat the G/S world.

Right, I forgot about that. That was a nice add on too. Kind of wish they had kept adding each previous games region to the newer ones. We'd have like 4 leagues to play through on the DS one if they had done that.

EDIT: Johto was the new one, Kanto was the old one.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since the originals. I played Red the most, but I got Yellow when it came out, too. I've always meant to get Silver, though. I've never had much interest in the GBA ones.

Diamond, Pearl and Platinum adopted the Night/Day system and I'm pretty sure the reason why the games post Gold and Silver didn't have more than the regular 8 badges was because there wasn't enought cartridge space, just think Diamond/Pearl you would have to go through 32 gyms to go through all the games. BTW Soul Silver and Heart Gold are great fun I'm playing through Soul Silver at the moment. :)
