So my AES seems to be having a personality disorder depending on what game I am playing.

Long story short...depending on the title, if you even slightly knock the cart or AES, the unibios goes into freak-out mode and puts up an exemption error.

Some of my carts (KOF 98, Sam Sho II, and FF Special) are affected by this to a certain degree. KOF 98 you so much as blow on, and it freaks. Sam Sho II is also very tempremental, and to a lesser degree so is FF Special.

KOF 2002 , ASO II, and Blues Journey....you could rattle the cart all day long...no problems.

I know some boards can be slightly wider than others...and it has to be a break in the pins contacting the boards. I looked and cant see any pins that aren't as far forward as the others, and I don't want to bend the pins myself. Sure i've done it on cheap systems, but I don't trust myself enough to screw w/ my AES

Short of bending the pins, any advice? And any recomendations on reliable, trustworthy members w/ a track record that can repair my AES if I wanted to (nearer to the east coast if possible so I don't lose my shirt on shipping)

Looks like I solved the problem, at least for KOF 98.

I had cleaned the cart last week, but this morning I really laid into it. It looked extremely clean, but I figured maybe I was missing something

The middle (triple width) contact point had some slight oxidation at the very top...took a flashlight to find it. Cleaned it up nicely (alcohol and qtip style) and now...no matter how much rattle, its 100%

Still need to try it w/ FF Special and SS II, but I think thats the fix.

As a side note, these werent "dirty" carts either. So perhaps my AES still has a bit of a funky pin?

Although interesting...the 3 that worked (2002, Blues Journey, ASO II) I all purchased as NOS, and the other 3 were used.

what I mean by "dirty" carts is that the portion effecting KOF 98 was miniscule. About the size of half a grain of rice. Just made me think that perhaps my AES itself was being overly sensitive to the spot on the cart.

Or is the Neo just that sensitive? (or am I just that sensitive about my AES? haha)

Push the cart in all the way, then slightly pull it up from the top middle. Also, you can push the pins in very lightly with a flat head screw driver. Do it just enough to where they push down a bit, just enough and it should be fine.
