I went to Gamestop yesterday looking to get a copy of Hyper Lode Runner for Game Boy that I had seen there the week before.
The current manager told me that all of the old Game Boy games were 75% off, in addition to the 10% for having their discount card. Apparently the previous manager had been using his position to have all the other Gamestops send their Game Boy games sent to his store so he could pick out the ones he wanted for himself.
The store had 3 large boxes worth of games. According to their inventory, they had 172 copies of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Game Boy Color game, 50+ of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, and 30+ copies of Pokemon Pinball. I bought 112 games (only a few of them are duplicates my brother wanted), and it made no noticeable difference in their stock. The grand total for my purchase was approximately $85. The transaction was so big that it crashed their system, and forced them to redo it as two separate transactions.
Here's a crappy picture of everything stacked together (I hate camera phones):
And here's the receipt:
I'm sure more than a few of the games are crap, but for the price, hey, why not give them a shot.
