I went to Gamestop yesterday looking to get a copy of Hyper Lode Runner for Game Boy that I had seen there the week before.

The current manager told me that all of the old Game Boy games were 75% off, in addition to the 10% for having their discount card. Apparently the previous manager had been using his position to have all the other Gamestops send their Game Boy games sent to his store so he could pick out the ones he wanted for himself.

The store had 3 large boxes worth of games. According to their inventory, they had 172 copies of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Game Boy Color game, 50+ of Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2, and 30+ copies of Pokemon Pinball. I bought 112 games (only a few of them are duplicates my brother wanted), and it made no noticeable difference in their stock. The grand total for my purchase was approximately $85. The transaction was so big that it crashed their system, and forced them to redo it as two separate transactions.

Here's a crappy picture of everything stacked together (I hate camera phones):

And here's the receipt:

I'm sure more than a few of the games are crap, but for the price, hey, why not give them a shot.

Are, imo, the best/most playable games out of them all (though I haven't played all). I've never even heard of some, like Out of Gas. And Cyraid's definitely not as cool as the cover art would lead you to believe. Otherwise, decent haul.

Figured it'd be a basketball game.

I'd prefer a 'Not in the Face' title for a game, though.

you spent more time typing out the list than you'll spend playing the games.
I bought about 100+ music cds when they were getting rid of their music
for less than 80 cents each.
it was a great receipt too.
other notable purchases was when they were clearing out NGpc games for around 5-10 bucks.
got about 10-12 games then.
good times.

Sadly, Hyper Lode Runner, the reason I went there in the first place, was already gone. I can't even find a rom of it. :crying:

The last big haul I got from a Gamestop was a few years ago when they were cleaning out their N-Gage stuff. I don't think I payed more than a couple dollars each for brand new, still shrink-wrapped games.

I still have some ngage stuff that was clearanced.
I don't remember opening any of it.
just kind of threw it all in a box somewhere,
it's wasting space on a shelf back at my folks.

Any chance you'd sell Ninja Boy 2? I have the box/instructions...just need the game to complete it.

Looks like a great lot of games. That's an instant collection right there.

All the Gamestops that I've been too already cleared their stock of gb and gbc.

Holy crap thats impressive, works out 75c a game! For that price I'd have been tempted to buy their entire stock and sell it on eBay.

I don't know, I think you'd have trouble selling 172 copies of Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories.

Awesome haul! Wish I could find a store with GB games. If you ever want to sell some of them let me know. I'm desperate for some of those titles!
