Fatal Fury Wild Ambition Sound Issues

I received this before the holidays and finally had a chance to mess with it a little more. The sound to the game comes on at the character select screen when I insert a coin. Otherwise there is no sound on bootup (hyper 64 screen) or the introduction/demo to the game. The dipswitches don't seem to do anything, I can't seem to get into test mode but there doesn't seem to be anything in the manual I can do to change this in test mode from what I read from a post, and the contacts seem fine. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have Buriki one and I get sound throughout the game. Hopefully this is something stupid that I'm not doing with the dipswitches.

It is an option you change in the test menu.
