Im not sure if this has been discussed before. Its tricky stuff to work with.
I was drilling a perspex panel today (not arcade cab related, its a long story) and sure enough on the first hole the drill bit grabbed and a piece broke off
To retreive the bit I put the drill into reverse rotation. Then the next hole with caution, it went though like a hot knife through butter, there were about 12 holes, all drilled nicely apart from the first screw up.
Turns out that I had forgotten to change the drill rotation back to normal.
A combination of friction causing the material to soften and the drilling action (even in reverse) makes for a clean hole with little chance of breaking the perspex.
Just thought I would share this accidental fix
