I'm having a issue with the color and brightness on my monitor when playing on the 1069-1 board. I tried adjusting the monitor settings and I can not get it to look right. It almost looks like I'm playing in composite. When I'm playing my cps2 18-1 or any of my cps2 B Boards, the colors are so bright and vivid, looks like I'm playing in vga but not on my 1069.

I recently spoke to OMF who has a regular 1069 in 1 board that he is running on a NEW Sega Astro City and he says it looks fine running in NTSC 15khz. Am I missing something here. Could it be a setting or something or is it the picture that is suppose to look like that? Its a shame too, because there are so many good games on there, but I'm a sucker for Hi-Res.

According to jammaboards it works best using PAL 15khz on a cab.

Thanks Xian, I'm going to try that and see what happens. Currently I have it setup 2 U.S NTSC 15 khz. The colors look so flushed out and it almost looks like there is hardly any contrast.

There's also another way to change it to actual resolution but you need to edit either an ini of dat type file to make it use a different emulator that is on board.

That sounds rough. If I have a 15/25khz monitor would I be able to run it in 25khz. I tried it, but the screen gets all garbeled.

I dont think so as far as I know the 1069 only supports 31, 15 and 24khz

So I tried the Pal 15khz. Although it looks slightly better it still does not look nothing like True 15khz Rgb. This is being returned. I'm not going to sacrifice quality for quantity.

I've read a lot of complaints about these things. It's just made to shit.

1. To adjust video you need to connect the 3p &4p sub PCB
2. RGB is not true RGB
3. It's just a PC running mame
4. Kick harness support adds buttons 5 & 6 only, button 4 is via the jamma edge aka Neo 4 which messes up people with a CPS1 or CPS2 kick harness.
5. Lack of support

Honestly it's just better to buy a PC and get roms and put it in your cab if you want something like this.

No doubt Xian. You made up my mind. I'm returning this. I was saying the same thing to OMF. The only reason I bought this thing was so I could run it on my Astro. These games look alot better on my Pc and Xbox playing off of a LCD then on my arcade monitor.

I honestly dont know why it was made without the arcade cab owner in mind. I think it was to just make a quick buck.

There is also another pain in the ass. Lets say you want to get into the games bios to switch to free play for example. You have to goto the mainboard where is SW1 is and switch 4 on, change your settings, then go back to the board and switch 4 off. You can't leave the sub pcb on even if you are selecting different games on the menu.

This becomes a real pain if you have your 1069-1 board inside your cabinet. You always have to go down there and reach in to turn that switch 4 on.
