CPSII A-Board Sound problem

Wondering if anyone might know a reason why one of my A-boards doesn't output audio thru the JAMMA connector, and only one channel thru the RCA connectors.
Have tried multiple B-Boards, same results. Would be OK if I had a Q-Sound cab or otherwise RCA style speakers.
But both my Big blue cabs have JAMMA sound.
:(
I hate pulling the B boards off and exchanging them whenever I want to swap games. One of these days gonna bend some pins....

If you don't have a Q-sound Amp then you can't use it in a cab since it's not amplified. The q-sounds pulls from the RCA jacks on the A board. The on board amp only works in mono.

Also don't forget to check you +12v level in case it dropped.

Eh, I'ma probably have to write off that A board. It doesn't put out sound thru JAMMA connector in any of my cabs. ALL my other ones do.
It's probably just a bad connection somewhere on the board.
Thanks for your help!

I've had 2 A boards that did the same, 1 was corroded at the mono pin and the other was a bad cap.

This might be a stupid question but did you try raising the volume with the pushbutton on the side of the board?

Not a stupid question. Would have to be a stupid person to miss that, though. :)
No, the volume was at full blast, and nothing.

A couple of CPS-2 manuals state that if there is no sound you should keep either of the volume up or down buttons on the board pressed fro 5 seconds after boot.

I once had this problem, and I fixed it by replacing a couple of bad capacitors.

Well dang, that's good info. Too bad JazzyNYC traded me "A" boards. He has two cabs that have Q-Sound, using the RCA connectors, so he doesn't really need to get sound thru the JAMMA edge connector.
SO maybe I'll tell HIM to try that....
