Fixing AES Stick controller port

Recently bought a used AES Stick for cheap and it works. The only problem is that the controller plug is somewhat melted so it goes into the system at a slant. I was wondering if there was anyway to fix this? Here are some pictures.

What the plug looks like:

Way original plugs into the system:

Way the deformed plug plugs into the system:

Right now I'm using it with an extension cord to prevent any damage to the system. Is there anyway to fix this or do I have to use this extension cord forever. Thanks

Matt

No real way that I know of. You can try heating the plastic but just remember that reassembling the hood isn't fun on those controllers.

Could he hack one of the extension cables from your site Xian and replace the whole cord? or maybe just chop off the end and replace it with a regular db15 and hood?

He could always just hack the hood off and use one of the screw hoods for a DB15 instead. But if he wants to keep the stock hood then that's all you can do.

Actually that stick would be a good candidate for a wireless AES stick.

I was reading your guide and I was wondering what points on the AES stick do I solder onto the PS2 controller PCB. You have a diagram of where I have to solder the wire to but where do I connect it to the AES stick.

For the wireless controller:

When you open the stick up you would be soldering to the microswitches on the stick itself. If using the Pelican PS2 2.4ghz controllers Left, Right and Down share a common dedicated ground while Up has it's own dedicated ground. The action buttons A(Square), B(X), C(Triangle) and D(O) have a common dedicated ground as well. Also the start and select buttons share a common dedicated ground.

When I say common dedicated ground it means those functions use the same ground in that respective area. People keep thinking that the common is like the Neo uses. The Neo uses 1 ground in the controller which can not be duplicated with a wireless stick.

So in the guide you will see pics of certain parts of the PS2 controller PCB with ground points marked, each section has it's own ground points that's the main thing to remember. Also a lot of people made the mistake of thinking the the negative on the battery pack was a ground point, no.

Let me know if you need any more help with it.
