glitchy ngpc video is making me sad

went to start up my ngpc for the first time in a while, and i'm getting graphical glitches, even without a game inserted. during the black neo geo splash screen for example, the top portion looks blank. when selecting language and date, portions of the borders were looking all mangled.
any ideas what's happened here? everything was fine last time i put it away. (i'll try to get some photos or something later, to give a clearer idea of what's up). i hope i don't need a new one; i'm hoping it could be a loose wire or something...

I had a problem with mine where the colors were all messed up and the screen was all dark. Kinda looked like it was only showing black and white. Took it apart and really cleaned the contacts, and now it works just fine. You may just have some dust or something on the contacts from not using it for a while.
