Hi,

Has anyone on here solved the overheating problem on the CDZ?

I was playing Viewpoint last night, and the graphics began to break up after about 1½ hours, and then it shutdown. It came back on fine, but I thought it best to let it cool down.

I've since drilled some extra ventilation holes in the rear of the console, but wondered if a fan may help.

It's fairly easy to remove the top cover, so I can use it without that for now, but I would like a more cosmetically pleasing option ;-)

Anyone able to help?

Cheers, Lee

Hi Tom,

I've been checking through a few other threads, and it appears there are two power supplies. When I get home, I'll check which version I have.

I suppose that it's also possible that the stepdown that I am using isn't up to the job. It's rated at 50Watts.

Hi Tom,

Seems to be the right adaptor POWCD-J2, AC 100V, 38VA.

I'll see if the extra vents help. If not, I'll try a small internal fan to extract the heat. From what I have read, the design of the case prevents the heat from escaping.

May also try another stepdown transformer.

Cheers, Lee
