I have a couple of red ringed 360s that I would like to get running if possible. I do not and can not send them back to MS as they are far out of warranty. I don't want the dash or hardware updated. I am particularly interested in if anyone does professional BGA reballing with good old non-RoHS lead based solder. It would be about a month or so before I can do it, but I am wanting to gather info and get a rough price estimate. Any good help would be appreciated.

Nevermind. I had a n00b moment and forgot to search a little more. But if anyone needs the info, I found a local (to me) company that seems to do a good professional job.

www.knightsgamingrepair.com

They seem a little expensive but offer a six month warranty if you get the system reballed.

I've heatgunned a couple myself and the fix only seems to last a couple of months at most :(

Good luck anyway, I hope they do a good job :)

I tried the heatgun route once and it lasted for only a week. I saw a video that these guys posted about their company and they seem legit. They are only about an hour away from where I am, so I might be dropping by and getting my system done in the next month or so. I will post up the results when I am done.

We used to sell them and had a few back in the early days. Overheating the procs after the heatsink mod worked 75% of the time. Nuts and bolts and good heat transfer compound. If it does not work after that = bin it imho.
