I am pretty sure it is impossible but I might as well ask.

I have had the Nova for a few weeks now and am really enjoying it but I have one problem. All the games have ski hi brightness. I have turned my brightness completely off and have the contrast at about 25 percent. It still is too bright, I lose a little background information because of it. Like some of the background mountain ranges in Metal Slug X. Any idea on how this can be fixed or do you simply need an arcade monitor? Does anyone with a Nova have this problem? Also I am thinking of getting a 20 inch Sony Wega w/s-video to use with my games, anyone with a Wega how does the picture look with the Nova. Sorry for all the Q's today

usually the supernova has an rgb adjustment pot (one for each color).. turn those down. if that won't work or you got no pots, solder a 75 ohm resistor on each r, g and b line, that should help it ALOT. if it's still too bright, experiment with different resistor values till you get a good picture.

The supernova comes with no brightness adj, the HGA is the one that comes with those. Yeah, at times the picture does seem to have to much white(bright) sometimes, but theres no real fix I have found for it.

Are you using composite now? Its horrible, S-Video is WAY better. I'm using a flat screen toshiba btw, great set

Yeah I am using s-video (composite video ) I am using it with my rear projection TV . I admit that the Nova doesn't look so hot on it but I swear with my Neo CDZ I can "simulate" a RBG monitor pretty good. BTW I have the Sony KP53V80 and it has been ISFed and run through the Avia DVD many times. I turn up the color temp to high (which pushes the grey scale towards the blue side) and put the contrast at about 35/40% and the brightness at about 20% .
But the Nova's picture with it isn't that great no question. outsider, just curious but when you say that the picture tends to be a little bright could you be more specific. I am loosing a LOT of picture image because of the strong whites. How does your picture look with the Nova w/your Toshiba? Sorry for all the questions. You and Arkon have been very nice to try and help me as much as you have the last few days. Thanks

By saying too bright I was refering in fact to the same problem you were saying about the white being to bright compared to everything else. You notice this most in bright flashes, or in some backgrounds as you stated.

The picture on my toshiba is wonderful, honestly, other than the slight problem with the white I spoke about before, I recommened it very much. The picture is PERFECTLY centered for almost every game and board, and the colors are great. I had a Wega and honestly I'm happier with this Toshiba. I heard the Wega's have increased their quality control though, because mine(I had like 2 sets) all had bad picture alignment and I didnt like the colors as much as on the Toshiba.

BTW- No problem with answering your questions- we all learn from each other
