Have a Sony projection television KP 53865 from 99 and I'm not sure if the trouble code applies to these models, but it has a consistent blink from the standby light. Supposedly this means it's the Jungle IC301 or the traces leading up to it. Can anyone confirm that?

Also, I've never touched projection before, or even opened this one up, how are you supposed to discharge the monitor, is it the same as a tube? Taking this on for someone else.

Also where is this IC available? Haven't seen any online. Actual number is a CXA1465AS.

There could be any number of causes.
Regarding the discharge, same as a conventional CRT x 3 (each RGB crts)
You should be able to source the CXA, will ask my suppliers and let you know.
Maybe try Sony but I do not fancy your chances.

Edit: having thought about this, its probably not the jungle. More likely a horizontal output issue. The first thing to check is the coolant oil in the radiators around the CRTs has not leaked onto the main PCB due to perished gaskets.

Bottom line is - time to get rid of that pos. But it is nice to have a 4:3 big screen for the Neo.

Well, there was also no indication of the part going as it supposedly worked perfectly one night then didn't work the next day but the blinking.

check for cold solder on any chips mounted to heat sinks and connectors also you could check any solder on the yokes for cold solder. also if the tv uses a separate power board make sure power is getting to the main/ convergence board
