pcb overheating?

i have a cps2 cabinet and just put in the capcom cps2 18in1 pcb. it doesnt have a fan like normal cps2 pcbs. do i have to be worried about it overheating?

Maybe, kinda weird that it doesn't have one. As long as your cab has good ventilation then it should be fine.

yah its an aftermarket pcb. it doesnt even have the normall casing around it like other cps2 pcbs. just curious to see whether its necessary

It shouldn't however installing a small fan will easily solve any problems in case it does become an issue.

Even real CPS2 boards are fine for a few hours without the fan. I think that the only reason the fan is in there is that the bigger Japanese game centers have their machines on 24-7.

I don't think it's for the board itself but the onboard battery to keep it from overheating and exploding.
