It's all about rarity and public demand. In the Neo-Geo world by now every single game (AES at least) is rated by various factors:
Rarity (number of copies produced)
Availability (copies available on the market)
Appeal (interest of the public about a certain game)
Ninja Master's is a very rare game and very requested by collectors, and even though Shawn's prices are always a 'little bit high', you can't find a Ninja Master's (original and complete) for less than $700/750, anywhere.
So that's the way it goes (unfortunately)...

Actually, buying from online stores or sellers is the cheapest way to have Neo-Geo stuff... Regular videogames stores ask MUCH more for games (even common ones).

you should still reduce it to a smaller size. This can be done by reducing the resolution to a more sane size. You've got that image blown up way too big.

I sometimes ask myself if I really need to have a 1200.00 cart , but when they were released they were all under 300.00 , wich is very understandable because back in the early early 90's when these games were hot in the cade you would not mind paying that much knowing you got at home what you played in the arcade to a "t". Other than that it is just on a must have and availability and anymore a little luck. I thought I paid a lot for my mint US slug at 1000.00. I am thinkin I could easily get 1500.00 for it now. I would hate to have gotten my collection started now as opposed to a year ago. YYEESSSSSSHH!

Agreed, dump that sig Kyo its much too large. Your sig should be around 100K max to be fair to people on dialup connections . . . 550K is a joke dude. Not for first post or anything, just get a smaller sig (around 100K max).

Kyo, maybe you don't understand. When I said dump the sig, I meant GO BACK AND EDIT the posts with the HUGE sigs in them, and uncheck the box that says "show signature" at the bottom!!!! See to prove it I just removed my sig from this post in the edit process . . .

OK, here's what you do. Go back to the old post that has the big sig in it, click on the little pencil and paper picture at the top of the post (above the first line of your post), and that will "edit" your post. At the next screen (edit screen) uncheck the show signature box which is toward the bottom of the page, and then click the "Edit Post" button. Voila, big sig removed!!

Ninja master is one of the most rare games on neo geo, this is the only reason why it cost so much.

Last time I checked there were several online stores selling NM CD between $195 (new/sealed) and $100 (used, good).

It's cheaper than the cart version, but still very expensive for a CD game.

anyone who buys the CD for more than $60 has their head up their ass. It's available for much cheaper. If you don't know where, then good.

I agree with EvilWasabi. You shouldn't have to go no higher than $60 on a used Ninja Masters CD. If I remember right, I grabbed one for myself for about that price (for some reason I'm thinking less) a while back at Raven Games, and Raven aren't necessarily known for dirt cheap pricing. They're a good store though...

And if you wind up spending $900+ on a home cart of this, do it for only collectability. The game is certainly cool, but nowhere close to $900 cool.

"Carts are originals"... If you BUY your CDs, they're "originals", too. Legit SNK releases.

There's more than MVS and AES. CDs are cheaper, there's better sound, and yes, the loading times suck, but that's another story (and partly not true)...

Yep, I got NM too, for $12

CD games are expensive if you insist on buying sealed/new ones. But... try to get Neo Drift Out on CD, Japanese version. You'd be surprised...
