Anyone see anything wrong with the numbers on this mini psu?

want to make a jamma setup and use this to run different boards and systems etc..

Any problem with the numbers? Besides no -5v...

I have a regular psu I could use, but this would just be a bit cleaner.

thanks

Looks fine, just get a 7905 to convert the -12v to -5v.

Ok, so I bought it and read somewhere that it needs an extra cap or something?

Any info on actually setting it up once it arrives?

$.70 for the part, $7 for shipping and handling, LOL. Oh well, $8 to be able to play a wider variety of games isn't bad at all.

These devices need only one external component—a compensation capacitor at the output

Weird. Never heard of that. The one in my SG I just put it on a MV1C heatsink and wired it up nothing more and it works fine.

ok, so basically put the -12v on whatever pin is "input" and take -5v off whatever pin is the -5v output? ground anywhere? the screw hole?

That probably has a -5... Even if it isn't listed.

That's not how it works. You still need to feed it negative voltage.

I dunno, 3 pins. Input output and ground. Isn't the purpose of the chip to produce negative from positive?

No, it's supposed to change one negative voltage to another negative voltage (ie. -12v -> -5V). If you want to convert a positive voltage to a negative voltage, you can use something like a charge pump.

Any reason you didn't consult the datasheet for the recommended circuit?
