Another new MVS cart, another round of "is it a bootleg?" questions..

I just bought an English Sam Sho 2 MVS cart, but when it boots up, its called "Saulabi Spirits"
Its called that in the dip settings menu too. I'm running it on an English MVS board.

I've opened it up, and it doesn't appear to be a bootleg, proper green SNK boards, all chips look OK.

So what's the story? Is it a bootleg, or SNK's famous translators as work again...

Wow, that certainly is odd. I've had two different new SSII English kits and never experienced that problem.

Yeah, I know.

Something else I've noticed - Half the time when you lose, instead of the opponents winning text, it comes up with "All creature will die, all things are broke. Thats the law of Saluabi.." Doesn't seem to matter who you lose to either..

I think it's going to go back tomorrow or Friday.

I've just taken some pictures, hopefully they'll come out alright.
I'll get them up as soon as they're developed, probably tomorrow/Friday (I really need a Digital camera...)

I've postponed taking it back until Monday next week. I might keep it for the novelty value, but then I'll ask for a discount on the price

I apologise for the crappy quality of the pictures. Never trust anyone when they tell you they have a good camera, or that they know how to use it properly

I doubt I'll be able to get any more pics before I take the crappy thing back..

Wow! Looks like you have some sort of bootleg/homebrew! I'd keep it only because it's interesting to own things like this. Instead of selling it, how about dumping the ROM so everyone can play it?

Sorry, I took it back this afternoon

I would have kept it, but they wouldn't let me have it at a reduced price, and I've found another cart for much less than I paid for the dodgy one. Plus I have a serious lack of cash at the moment

As for dumping the ROM, even IF I still had it, I wouldn't have a clue how to do this...

The final nail in the coffin (apart from the screwed up win/lose quotes) was the lack of blood, even with the setting turned ON in the menus.
