I recently bought a jamma cabinet that has a bad monitor chassis, but have not picked it up yet(will be getting it wednesday). I was wondering if anyone has ever repaired a monitor chassis and if so, what do they recommend I look for when diagnosing the problem, besides bad capacitors and resistors. I have experience with electronic repair, but have never worked on a monitor before.

Depends on what you observe when you see it in person. Is there no power at all? A bad picture?

I'll post what I see if I can not find the issue right away. I'm mostly just trying to find out what the worst case scenario with the chassis could be and whether or not they're typically easy to fix.

chassis are the same as any electronics, you get easy fixes and you get nightmares
most chassis models have common problems so when you get the cab make sure you id the chassis as well as post the symptons
best case scenario is a dry solder joint
worst case scenario is a broken crt neck

be careful when replacing chassis with generic types as you need to match many different things
crt size(therefore HT)
crt socket pinout/size
voltage input type(isolated/non isolated/free voltage range/fixed voltage)
yoke impedence
yoke inductance
required frequency range

get any of the above wrong and at best you will get a poor picture-get the ht wrong and yoke matching wrong and you will have a free firework display

I picked up my jamma cabinet and spoke to the guy about the issue. Apparently the flyback had some issues and he had someone try to repair it, and they ordered the wrong one. I ordered the correct flyback and now just have to wait for it to arrive so I can install it. Aside from this issue, the screen looks beautiful with no burn in and still has a nice dark gray color.

looks pretty good then, might aswell get a cap kit for it while you're at it. the only bad thing about doing monitor repairs it seems is discharging the monitor before you do anything. I been looking into it myself since I need a cap kit for mine, I got some wavy lines 1/4 of my screen on the right.

A cap kit was installed at the same time as the flyback, so that's good to go.
