I received a Thrash Rally MVS cartridge that i'm having graphics issues with. I cleaned the contacts and the game boots up fine every time, but the backgrounds are all glitchy and scrambled. i was wondering if there was someone on these boards who repair carts and could take a look at mine. i can provide pics if needed. thanks for looking.

Throw that shit away.

But on a serious note... throw that shit away.

Yea, it was mine. I got it from someone of these boards and it worked fine when i had it. But it has been stored for a while after I sold my arcade.

If it isn't fixable, does some one have one that I can purchase and sent to incrediblehark to complete my trade?

You just might need to give the contacts a better cleaning..

I use red Scotch Brite(home depot0 and then clean the residue off with 91% alcohol..

I've also experienced sound and graphical glitching due to the games boards being too tight in the case..and or warped due to being too tight in the cart case..
..I've either had to change the case.loosen the screws in the case slightly..or modifiy the insides of the case the give the boards wobble.
when a game doesn't slide smoothly into the mobo it will give me issues.

thanks for the input, I'll give the cart another cleaning, using the scotch brite method and give it another shot.

As a last resort I take the boards out of the case and put them in the mobo out of case..Making sure to put them in the mobo exactly like they'd go in as if they were still in the caee.
This way I couls have 1 board up slightly higher then the other incase it's not making contact at certain spots..

With the game in case don't piush it all the way into the mobo.or rather push it all the way in and they pull it up slightly to have it make contact at a different spot of the connectors..
If after all my intense cleaning, checking for cart wobble,no warping in the case.sliding nicely into the mobo
plus clearing the back up ram memory..then the carts got a problem that I can't fix

If a cart won't slide smoothly into the mobo,I know it's going to have a problem..

With the link port games(two holes in case for link ports),I had a game shoved into a case (YATON)that didn't have holes for the ports,........because of that one of the boards was being pressed forward....The two cart edges didn't meet perfectly so one was going firther into the mobo then the other...I had to cut holes in the case to have the link ports stick out of it...

I have a Thrash Rally MVS Cart..Not sure really what they go for now..

Personally I enjoy the game but if the scotch brite method does not work, I do recommend tossing it because for the price of shipping it back and forth and paying someone for their time. you could have another Thrash Rally. If it were a rare game I would advise looking further but You can get that pretty cheap.

Good Luck

I also use a rag with a little metal polish to clean really dirty contacts(I use metal-glo). Just make sure your polish doesn't contain some kind of wax.

so i cleaned it up but still no go :( might have to take you up on that offer Jag. but i tried the metal polish and that works great for cleaning. Ive mainly used a rubber eraser and alcohol, but this does the job a lot better! Im going to give it a shot on some of my other carts.
