I just received a legit KOF 2000 today and when I boot it up in my 4 slot, this message comes up in red letters against a black background, and does not leave the screen until I power the system down:

WARNING

THIS ROM CARTRIDGE IS FOR USE WITH ORIGINAL SNK BOARDS ONLY.
COPYING OF SNK BOARDS IS PROHIBITED AND MAY RESULT IN SEVERE CIVIL AND CRIMINAL PENALTIES AND WILL BE PROSECUTED TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT OF THE LAW.

wtf. I took all of the other carts out and booted it up alone and it won't work. Is this telling me my MOTHERBOARD is fake? That doesn't make any sense to me. IS there a such thing as a fake motherboard? What can I do to bypass it, if anything?

that message was meant for romz users, at least that´s what they saw for 2 weeks until the security measure was broken.

clean the cart connector, rearrange the carts... clear the backup ram if nothing works.

Received your pm about this. Metallizer is right on the money. Happens from time to time if your mvs isn't played too often, or the backup ram needs to be cleared. Just clear the back up ram and you should be set. The cart itself should be clean. Hope this helps bro.

Nevermind! Figured it out. Okay it works :P Geeze. I've learned something new about the Neo every day I've owned it so far.

Okay, it's doing it again, even after I clear the back up ram. I think I'm just going to sell KOF 2000, I don't like the game enough to put up with the frustration of getting that "OMG NO BOOTLEGZ" screen everytime I boot up my neo.

That's weird that you would get it so often. I've only seen the screen on a few odd occasions, and it always goes away promptly.
