so I got a wargods board that I have been trying to sell because I didnt have a med res monitor well I Found out that if you switch dip 1 to "OFF" and dip 2 to "ON" on bank 1 it changes the game to std resolution so I tried that out and it works. Now after the board goes through it's rom check and everything is 100% it says "checking harddrive" this is where it fails it reads "check harddrive or cable" the obvious quick thing to do is swap the cable but I checked it out and all looks good. so I am thinking it's the HDD I have access to a spare HD how would I load the chd files onto the new HDD?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure the drive and cable are both good. I believe worse case scenario you can replace the hard drive with a solid state storage device with the Image on it using a ide to compact flash adapter.

at this point im not sure either the HD or cable are good. I used a usb to IDE adapter and plugged in the HD I could hear it running but I was unable to browse the drive. im going to pick up a new cable today after work, should be more than a few dollars for a cable. I have an extra compact IDE drive, worse case I can just reload the CHD's if I can find them onto the new drive.

I was able to re-dump the CHD files on to the spare HDD using the chdman.exe tool, looks like it was successful, I will give the board a try this evening to rule out the HD.

If its anything like the KI boards. You can't just put in any ide drive with the image in it. You have to replace the boot rom on the board with a special boot rom that can boot from any ide device.

The original boot rom on the board is looking for a particular model of ide drive. Which its possible to find that model but the one for KI 1+2 is an old seagate laptop model drive of 400mb which I found a site selling them but was like 100 bucks. Send an email to maximus@revisionx.com. He mights be able to help you.

He sold me the Ki2 boot rom needed to use any ide device, which I used to put the chd file on a CF card.
