I know there's a portable nes system and a portable sega genesis but is there a portable snes system? And if so where could I get one?

I was hoping that a company somewhere made one so I could get it for like $50 but apparently theres not and the homemade ones are expensive. Which sux, I would love to bring my snes games to work and play them on break. >_< Hopefully someday a company will make one and sell it for a lot cheaper than the homemade ones.

There is supposed to be one in the works. I think by Yobo.

snes release + 20 years for the hardware patents go public.

I think it is next year or 2011.

dude.... get a PSP already. mod that shizzle and put snes on it. Basically that will provide you with exactly what you are asking for - SNES on the go.
I have been enjoying a full library of snes goodness like that for some time!

I have a modded psp and I just don't like playing an emulator. I just like the real cartridge.

get a snes then :D
but seriously, you really want to slug around cartridges and a portable system that you can insert them into? To do what...? Sit on a train and look like some back-from-the-future nerd with his homemade device?

Sorry, but I don't get it. If you are gonna play on the move, then use your psp emu. If you want to play somewhere that has got a tv, then take a snes with you and hook it up - would be much easier if you ask me.

but I don't want to wind you up or disrespect... I just don't get it personally, but guess each to their own :) good luck mate!

I just like playing on my original cartridge. I do have a super nintendo. but I would love to have a portable one to play while I'm on break at work or at college. I want to play my save files off of the cartridge. Emulators just aren't the same.

With such unusual stipulations, surely you're not surprised that it's hard to find such a device?

I respect what you're trying to do here.

I prefer using my original games and where possible original hardware.

It is the reason I would rather try to buy and pay a lot for a SEGA Nomad, rather than these new third party licensed devices currently on the market, even if some can do more.
