Are mas sticks soldered?

i ordered the mas supergun with 2 sticks, and i was planning on changing the button layout and to my surprise the buttons were soldered, is this normal?

To me it is. I don't use quick dis since it's not in a cab.

i wonder if this is all over or what?

i wouldn't mind if i had the neo geo sticks, but on teh capcom six button layout it's kinda annoying in order to use diff. settings, that and in case i have to replace a microswitch.
