it all depends on the layout of the Supergun.

I can make Mega Drive 6-Button pads work 100% if you follow all the steps need.

But this site should help you

<a href="http://www.cps2shock.com" target="_blank">www.cps2shock.com</a>

:D

It haves a section where you can read important info about Superguns.

I really suggest the original Dreamcast arcade stick, they work great, are easy and cheap to find, and are extremely easy to mod!
Check this thread about how I modified one:
<a href="http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=002240" target="_blank">http://www.neo-geo.com/cgi-local/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=002240</a>

And in this other one there are a lot of links about modding controllers in general:

That's why I used the DC arcade sticks...

Anyway this site also has complete info about constructing a supergun:

Good luck!

Why waste your time with modding controllers?
Make a custom made one, here some tips.
Order Midway 8 way joystick from Happ Controls.
Order matching colored buttons or each different colored.
Wooden boards to fit it all in and some stickers to dress the whole thing up a little.
(or make a really big one for 2 players and dress it with a control panel overlay from a neo geo arcade cabinet)

Gotta tell you, this will be the finest joystick you will ever play with.

Why bother using wood when you can use acrylic... mmmm acrylic. Now that's a skill that I wouldn't mind working on (When I finally get around to getting a house.) Making something in plastic just gives it a more "professional" feel IMO. :D
