Home made Mahjong controller..

I'm thinking of making a mahjong keyboard for the japanese mahjong boards.

Has anyone done this before?
I'm thinking of making a big keyboard with 30 or so buttons (including KAN, PON, etc.) would it be an easy job?

Your project is kinda different, but I don't think it is that hard if you know the pin-out of the Mahjong controllers and know how they work...
