I have two AES systems and I want to clean the cart slots. I have blown them out with canned air, but want to find something to actually wipe them down with and remove any junk. (I know hardmvs.com has a cleaning faq, but their methods of using a toothbrush or the can of stuff from Radio Shack are not to my liking.)

I found this:
<a href="http://www.buyritegames.com/product_information.asp?number=NES-CLEANK&back=yes" target="_blank">http://www.buyritegames.com/product_information.asp?number=NES-CLEANK&back=yes</a>

It's $20 and would work perfectly, but in my case all I want are the slot cleaning cards. Plus I am wary of buying from Buy Rite, I've heard nothing good about them.

There must be some product out there that I can buy that will work.

I use the following to clean the games and they fit the boards perfectly! (They are too big for the slot though.) They work like a charm (since they're not cotton, they leave no lint) and leave the contacts bright and shiny.

The link: <a href="http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=&product%5Fid=44%2D1115" target="_blank">http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=&product%5Fid=44%2D1115</a>

Does anyone know of anything like what I am looking for and where I can get it?

Oh, and this is also posted in the 16-bit forum, so if you see this more than once I apologize... ;-)

I've often found a bottle of alcohol and a qtip work great at cleaning games. I've also found that the super cheap-o electronics cleaner in a can at Radio Shack works well for everything else.

This guy's tips seem helpful for that.

It looks like a good method to get to the slots, as long as the fabric doesn't get caught anywhere or comes off.

I'd use electronic cleaner or some rubbing alcohol with the "tool".
