+1 on the forum there. You'll be able to search and find info on which caps to replace to fix the audio.

Agreed. Its a really common problem w/ Duo's, and they have it down to a science as to how to repair the problem, and plenty of users with hands on experience with working on the Duo

Good luck w/ it

I emailed one of the guys who can do repair and he'll give me a quote how much will it cost to fix my Duo. If it costs too much to fix then I'll simply get a DUO RX.

For fixing a cap problem it shouldn't go passed $50 which is already on the high side. It's probably $20.

I've done the Turbo express sound fix a few times and have had great success. It can't be that hard to do it on the duo using one of the guides over there. If you can get me link to the info I can probably help you and I wont charge more than $50, probably less. We can work it out. Let me know if you would like me to give it a shot.

Sounds great. Mine is just an old PCEngine Duo so I'm thinking to spend some money to fix it (it had sound-dropping issue years ago and now it has no sound at all). If I have $200 to spend then I'd rather get another used Duo RX........

I'd just get the Duo fixed. If it is reading cd's 100%, not really worth starting all over w/ an RX, in my opinion

What? $200? What is he on crack? What is his screen name so everyone can avoid this rip off artist?

Shit, you figure the caps only cost about not more than $10 and $10 can buy a lot of caps, that still leaves $190 even if you pay yourself $10 per hour that's a 19 hour pay rate. WTF?!?!
