Hi fellas,

Can someone tell me how to pop open a home cart so I can replace the shell, please?

If you're reading this Jeff, didn't you say somewhere that there is a technique you can use when by the cart won't damaged?

I don't really care if I damage the cart sticker, but I need to open the shell without damaging it.

Is there anything technical about swapping the boards over?

Please haylp!!!

Well, I'm afraid you're gonna have to do it again, because your advice was obviously deleted when Biomotor_Unitron spring cleaned the archives.

Tech forum posts only go back to the begining of June and there is nothing here on opening carts up... :(

If you start at the bottom, the part that is inserted in the neo geo when you play.
Both on the left side and the right side are 2 clips you need to try and loosen up.
On the both sides of the cart there are 2 more clips each side you need to unlock.
When you've unlocked all 6 clips, insert gently a screwdriver at the bottom of the cart between the top lit and the plastic thingy that holds both boards, and give it a little push upwards, dont use brutal force here. The top lit will pop up, you need to do this on the left side of the cart and on the right side of the cart, to loosen the glue that holds the cart together on the 2 round thingys, that hold the boards on their place. When succesfull, you can open the cart without cutting or removing the sticker on the top to reach the final clip, that wont need to be unlocked if you follow this way. Hope this makes any sence to you

Tarma, in case you didn't know, there's a link in the superior part of the board that says "search" :D . You use it and you can find any post in this tech forum since its creation, since it has never been deleted as you can read in the front page of this very site:
05/22/02 Forum moderator Biomotor_Unitron completed some heavy spring cleaning on the forums today. Topics that were > 1 year of age were deleted from the Wanted Section (3,318 posts), Selling Forum (4,449 posts), Unrelated Topics (27,953 posts), and the SNK War Room (25,785 posts). This resulted in a total deletion of 61,505 posts. Forums that hold greater relevance to the neo will not be purged but perhaps archived in the future, leaving our history intact

Anyway remember that the search option may not work in most sections of this boards, but in the tech it definately does.

So Tarma, next time don't check the 9 pages of this section one by one and say there's nothing after them.

The truth is outta there
