I am, cant fucking wait. I own a psp 1000 and this motherfucker is just to big to lug around to work and whip out and play. Seriously there too long. Also carrying around UMD's on a case, or just having the one in the drive is lame.

I know a lot of people are bitching and hatin' on the PSPgo but when I saw it I had to get one, there so slick looking and leaps and bounds better then my huge PSP1000, or even the 3000 "slim" for that matter.

Will be nice playing Gran Turismo PSP on my Go for my birthday, will be a good week indeed.

i still have my launch day fatty, no dead pixels.

i saw a photo of the white psp go, and I was pretty much sold.

but then I saw they put sparkle flakes in the finish, kind of like the original dualshock 2s. but not crazy about that.

would probably go with black now.

i hardly play my psp as it is, but the hardware will be difficult to resist.

I saw the white ones, I think they look awesome too, but I dont like the sparkles, it might be a Twilight vampire for all I know... But I work in a auto shop so that white would be ruined in a month.

Was kind of on the fence, but after seeing the thing for myself at the weekend I'm sold. Getting the Bluetooth headphones too.

Also, Peacewalker is excellent.

I don't know...........Before I can decide I need to know a few things.

-Will the entire back catalogue of games be available for dl?

-Will the games be cheaper due to the lack of physical media?

-Is the screen better quality? Does it ghost like a bastard? Is it all interlaced looking like a psp3000 screen?

-Is that actually a solid dpad? It looks like each direction is once again an independant button like the 1000 (useless for fighters).

So I'm going to stick with my 2000 until I get to try the Go myself.

Yeah I saw pics of peacewalker, I downloaded the demo but I'm saving it for when my Go arrives. How much did you see bluetooth stereo headphones for, I really havn't priced them yet. I plan to use my Go as more then just a PSP, it will replace my ipod so all I need is a Go and my phone. Would be cool if my Go would make phonecalls but whatever.

Im gonna start converting some movies over for it soon. I preordered from dell and paid something like $212 and shipping for it. Not to bad. Im still trying to sell my PSP1000 though. I really cant justify keeping it just for homebrew and emulation. I dont like to download PSP titles either. My ISP has already bitched once about TV shows.

-Will the entire back catalogue of games be available for dl?------- There might be games here and there that dont make it, they have said all new games should be on PSN and all the popular games will be brought over.

-Will the games be cheaper due to the lack of physical media?------- Not really. I wont lie its about the same prices. PSN does have sales on games for ps1-psp time to time so meh whatever. I just like the fact of not having to goto a gamestore and buy shit. Unless its a "collectors" edition for my fav games I dont give a shit about manuals and cases anymore, I have boxes of dvds, games, etc and Im out of room.

Also I did read NIS-america is gonna offer some DD games on sale for buyers and rpg fans. So if thats true its really up to the game companys what they wanna charge per game. Not sony.

-Is the screen better quality? Does it ghost like a bastard? Is it all interlaced looking like a psp3000 screen? ------- From what Iv seen its good, I didnt see any ghosting or scanlines. I have read they have changed the screen for the better. It looks better thats for sure.

-Is that actually a solid dpad? It looks like each direction is once again an independant button like the 1000 (useless for fighters). ------- You will have to be the judge of this. Personally I love fighters, but no matter what handheld dpads are just not made for fighting games. So I dont really care anymore.

The Bluetooth headphones were on the Sony stand at TGS and I think they were 4500 Yen. Must be brand new as they aren't even in the official catalogue.

In Japan the DL games are cheaper. I'm getting GT PSP via DL tomorrow. It is 5480 Yen retail and 4400 Yen from PSN.

Also, IGN reported no interlacing on the GO.

I just bought one at Best Buy

I wasn't even planning on buying it until this morning. Its my 4th psp :emb:

I am still waiting for the battery to charge so I can upgrade the firmware.

I already bought Fate Unlimited Codes so I will install that and probably pick up one of this NIS sale games.

I personally think that this new PSP, is almost like downgrading from the current models, as it has no new features, yet takes some away from the old? :spock:

Depends on how you look at it. The only downgrade is losing UMD, something that a lot of people hate. Dragging discs around for a "portable" game system.

I could also care less about losing half a inch of screen, at the cost of way better portability and a way better quality screen with no interlacing issues and other problems. If you like to drag around the big ass PSP and a case full of UMDs more power to you. I however have to carry what I take to work, in my pocket all day. I would like a portable playstation portable.

I dunno man. You're talking like not being able to play the games you already have is a good thing. And the screen may be of better quality (how much better, I don't yet know myself), but it is indeed considerably smaller.

The only thing that the Go does better than existing PSPs do at over a hundred dollars cheaper is be a bit more portable. That's it.

And if portability is your primary concern, why not get a Game Boy Micro?

I still think you'd have to be half nuts to want to buy one of these now. It's overpriced to the point of absurdity, and has no new features — at all. Seems like a pretty crummy deal to me.

I would hope the battery life is much improved thanks to no UMD access.

Also, would you be able to buy English versions of games to use on a Japanese PSPGo? Would you be able to buy import Japanese games for your English PSPGo? I wonder.

I'm sadly on the fence too.

Bluetooth is a new feature.

You can use this for a lot of things.

Personally, I'm going to whore the Bluetooth headphones, but you can use it to hook up a Dualshock 3 or link to other mobile devices for communication as I think has been mentioned. Whether this interests you or not is anyone's guess, but they are all new features, regardless.

The 6.10 firmware also has some GO specific functionality. This type of stuff also counts as new features.

I got to try the PSP go and I'd have to say it's definately the nicest PSP ever released.

It has the nicesty screen, the buttons feel great, it's way more portable. As awkward as it looks, it's very comfortable to hold and play. Overall the build quality feels pretty amazing.

Only downside was the buttons seemed a little too close together. When I was playing Grand Turismo I found that occasionally my thumb would make contact with the square button and my car would brake while driving, but I'm sure I'd get used to it.

That said, I'll stick with my 2000 until this one gets a price drop, but I'll pick one up eventually for sure. I don't think early adopters have anything to feel ashamed about.

Just ordered a white one off Newegg. I have 33 PS1 Classics waiting to go on it! It has an uphill battle trying to get my Dingoo A320 out of my hands. Does the US get the free Gran Turismo DL?

Fuck this bastard of a device. You should be able to dl all your current umd's on it for free. The download-able versions aren't any cheaper either.

i like the looks of the psp go, but pricing is stupid on the systems and games imo.
anyway i was thinking it has blue tooth and i heard you can use the ps3 controller on it. so can you use this a better set to play psp exclusive games on a tv?
i understand the older psp can play on tv but you have to use the psp control setup right?

Ah, I was unaware of those features. Still, it seems like the price for such luxuries is much much too high.

I will say this though: I've been ragging on the Go since the word 'go' (*groan*), but I would actually be interested in getting one if the price were lower. I have a 2000, and that's fine, but a nicer PSP would be great. I already have a few DL games I could use on it, so there's that, too. I wish they found a way to squeeze a UMD drive into there though (assuming they even wanted to).

why the fuck would I spend more for a handheld than a Wii costs? what a joke. Hack an old psp and download psp games all over the internet for free and play them on a memory stick pro duo. Ive got a shit load of psp games along with emulators, Neo Geo included, which is more than Ill ever get out of a Psp Go. What a waste of money, but they know people will buy it, so they sell it.

Oh no, Id rather spend $250 on a handheld that has limited memory just cause its new! wow! and the screen slides up!

But then again thats just my situation. to each his own.

Well, the Wii is well overpriced for the tech anyway, even at the new price point. And then there is the question of why on earth you would want one in the first place.

Why do you say the GO has limited memory?

Also, I don't think you can use piracy as some great argument for value. My mate has a hacked Wii. So what?

I liked it better when Sony made good gaming decisions.
