I came accross Aerofighters2 in a single game cabinet at a bowling alley.

The monitor was mounted sideways, so it was taller top to bottom than left to right.

All the screen shots I've seen aren't like this.

Is this unusual?

I have noticed that most flying shooters have used this format , ie Raiden and a few I cant remember the names too.

You can more or less run any game vertical or horizontal as far as I know.

I dont think its really uncommon , its just another conversion , or an mvs board in any old cabinet.

You can't change the monitor orientation without changing the game orientation as well: Aerofighters 2 has horizontal monitor (being for Neo!) but vertical scrolling. If you put the monitor on its side you'll have vertical monitor but horizontal scrolling...

I suspect that what bconner has seen is Aerofighters 1 which wasn't a Neo game, had vertical monitor and vertical scrolling (a la Raiden).

Aero Fighters #1 for sure. Video systems Co released this gem in 92 then followed with the Neogeo Aero Fighters 2(Sonic Wings 2)in 94.
