Dragonpunch motions on sticks?

Ever since I got my cab I've been using sticks exclusively while playing fighters. It took me a while but I think I've finally got the hang of it...I can pull specials/DMs/etc off with the correct timing, dash, and all that jazz.

The only thing that's really giving me trouble are :dragf:+:dragb: motions...I always seem to either :qcf: and do a different move/whiff or :qcf::upf: and super jump like a retard.

Is there a trick to dragonpunching on a stick or do I just suck/need more practice?

what kind of stick you´re using, a ball top or bat top?

I can speak for ball top that is what I use, it should be hold like a wine glass, between middle and index fingers it was not intended to be gripped like a bat.

That would be part of the problem then...I usually use battops when possible and manhandle the things. :emb:

How do you do it on a pad? Just make sure the stick is jammed in a corner at the end of the motion.

I don't actually hold it like a wineglass, I just put my thumb on one side and my index finger on the other. ^_^


This thread makes me realise what type of people are into the neo and post on this forum. LoL

I wasn't happy with The Wineglass or The Monkey, so I came up with a few new ones:

This is The Awesome- it's more of a technical hold for attack-style players

I'd have less luck viewing that quickly than recreating the mona lisa with felt tip pens, inventing my own method of communication over two cups with a piece of string and sending it that way, or perhaps picking up a phone and speaking ones and zeros down it.

I think part of it is that I just recently started using balltops so I grab the ball and not the shaft.
