I'd like to replace these if possible. anybody know a good place to get replacements? do they sell exact replacements or is there standard sizes and types you can use?

104 = 10 followed by 4 zeros = .1uf

Stop by your local Radio Shack, or The Source if you are in Canadastan.

Game will work fine without them in 99.9% of cases. They are used for filtering power on the 5v line.

Thanks I will check out the Source. the board ir running 99% perfect. only problem im left with is some muffled/distorted sound that happens rarely at random.

looking at the board, these 2 caps and the 1 broken cap I fixed (in my other post) are the main things that looked damaged. everything else looks perfect, except I also have noticed some solder joints don't look that great. you see a ring instead of that shiny blob of solder I feel should be there.

would broken capacitors or solder joints cause audio problems in a game? or do they only cause erratic power issues?

If they are sitting between power & ground they are simply filter caps to get rid of ripple and bursts of noise. (Chips draw power in RF bursts)

Sound caps sit in the path of the audio and will affect the audio quality.

Do sound caps look the same as other caps? how would one go about figuring out what caps are in the path of audio?
