Just wondering what is needed to hook my super nova up to a RGB monitor. I was told that super novas can be used with RGB monitors but it only came with a s-video cable. I know they make a RGB monitor set-up that can be used with the super nova but can you just buy a standard Wells Gardner RGB monitor and hook it up to the nova? Does MAS sell a cable to do that? Do you have to modify your Super Nova to recieve RGB? I just need some clarification on this matter. Please help
Thanks. <img src="graemlins/help.gif" border="0" alt="[Help]" /> :)

You can connect the wires to the arcade monitor from the Jamma harness to get a picture..BUT you will need a seperate power source and an isolation transformer for the monitor..
What I usually do is get ahold of an Amiga 13" RGB or a SONY Professional RGB Monitor..all you have to do is plug the connections from the harness into those units and you're good to go..
RGB is really the only way to go IMO..Even though I am @ the point now where TV is tolerable to me as well..

The Super Nova outputs direct RGB through the 8-pin DIN in the back. What kind of interface does your monitor have? If it has a 8-pin DIN like the Super Nova then you just need a cable with male 8-pins on both sides. MAS should be able to hook you up with the cable.

why waste money on a super gun when you have an rgb monitor?

the most expensive part to a super gun is the RGB to NTSC convertor.

all it is without that is a jamma harness, and a power supply, which is all you need if you have an rgb monitor.

I have a SuperNova, and have it hooked up with a Neo Geo RGB cable to an X-RGB2 upscan unit. Gives one hell of a picture. You could just buy yourself a Neo RGB cable and then hack it to hook up to whatever...I'd definitely recommend the X-RGB2 as a solution though. It's a wicked little box, and offers you a lot of flexibility. I've got it hooked up to a high definition 36" TV and the quality kicks more ass than Pele in a donkey farm.
