It's out in a few weeks so here is the thread.

Looks like the best hand-held driving game ever by a long way.

I can't wait. Anyone else hyped?

I was hyped when Sony announced this at the launch of the PSP. In fact that was the main reason I bought a PSP, so I waited, and waited some more. It's been so damn long I'm not even sure I want it anymore. Ok, so I do want it but I won't be buying it new. Sony's not getting any of my money for making me wait so long.

I haven't heard anything about it, how many cars/tracks are offered. I loved GT4, if this is anything similar to that(which it probably will be) I'll be psyched.

Yeah, it was kind of bullshit having to wait so long, but the game does look amazing.

I was watching some youtube videos of it being played on an old umd psp and it loaded super fast (then again, it may have been running off a pro duo).

Anyways, I'll be picking this one up day one for sure.

the game does look great and it is surprising how late into the psp's life this game is coming out.

It's also surprising that Motorstorm (which also looks pretty cool) is coming out like just a week earlier than Gran Turismo. I think both games are by SCEA, so seems surprising that they'd release 2 higher profile racing games back to back...even if they are pretty different types of racing games....

I'll definitely pick up one of these 2 games, but not sure which one at the moment :)

It seems to be GT4 portable, and then some.

800 cars, Lamborghinis, some new tracks, ad hoc play, connectivity with GT5....

Best to check the official site.

I've been waiting YEARS for this game, so it had better be fucking amazing.

Something has to get Monster Hunter out of my PSP for a bit, and this is the only game I could see doing that.

Here's a decent off-screen replay of the Bugatti Veyron. The camera focus is a bit crap at the beginning. Fortunately, the replay is of someone that doesn't stuff the car into a wall at the first corner. A rare thing it would seem.

This is a brief one of in-race action at Nurburgring. The player isn't great but it gives a good idea of the different camera options and also just how smooth the game is and how good the visuals are.

GT5 ps3: 150 cars and 30 tracks
FMS3 360:over 300 cars and 100 tracks

I am no specific 360 fan quite the contrary but i will buy GT5 as budget/platinum
I will however get forza 3 on launch day.The graphics probably aren't as good as GT5 but it has taken way too long and prologue was a complete rip-off.
I was seriously dissapointed and after playing it for a few hours it became a dust collector/coaster

Aside from the fact that your data for GT5 there isn't remotely accurate, what does any of that have to do with GT PSP?

My data is based on what advertisements on the euro release says.
back on topic:If GTpsp has over 300 cars total available and it's gameplay is like 2,i'll buy it.

I think it will have over 800 cars and 35 tracks - according to wiki (and I'm sure I've seen it elsewhere too).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gran_Turismo_(PSP)

The initial reviews state that it doesn't have a career mode which seems to be annoying a lot of fans.

I'm a little glad it hasn't got a career mode as I'm hardly on my PSP for very long - just want a couple of races then out.

It looks amazing and I'm sure I'll enjoy it, also if it unlocks stuff in GT5 that's a cool feature.

I'm getting this 100% and am really looking forward to it.

1 thing though ... why are they releasing Motorstorm at the same time? - that's not a great idea from Sony.

This.

You still need to earn money to buy the cars, and there are a lot. You also rank up on the cicuits depending on performance.

Race parameters are configurable too, so you create a race that suits you.

I cant wait to spend my journey to work lapping the Nurburgring.

Review said there are no license tests. I'm getting it for that alone. I HATE those goddamn license tests

Ha ha.

They are still in, kind of.

There is a Mission mode, but you can ignore it if you wish.

It's really quick to get some fast cars in this. My first buy was a Nismo Fairlady Z, and I now have a Nissan GT-R Spec V, Ford RS200, and Ford GT.

Got it yesterday, haven't opened it yet. The ign review said something about not being able to distinguish between cars when selecting them??

According to the gametrailers review there are minor differences between cars. A car of same model will have the exact same parts and stats with the only difference being that one of them has a stripe on it. Also, you can only buy 10 selected cars from which brand. There is no way to view all the cars available and the cars available for selection is completely random. Sucks.

I'm about 3 hours into this game and loving the freedom. It feels so open and has so many options right from the start. I'm trying to collect all the preludes, but Honda has only shown up a couple of times in the dealership area. I've only got one 96' lude.

I really love the courses, even the snow one is a lot of fun to play on.

So what are people doing in this game? I'm digging on the city courses right now and saving up for a nice rally car. I have 40k so far, most of the rally cars are really expensive.

I'm loving it.

Those reviewers that ragged on it because there is no predetermined route through the game REALLY missed the point.

I love how you rank up too. It gets challenging quickly, if you want it to...

Currently enjoying the ASL ARTA Garaiya, which set me back 50 mil. Saving for the next thing that takes my fancy.

I'll have to check that car out. I'm wondering which rally car to go for... will probably try to get an Impreza.
