Anyone know what the value of the capacitor in the MS3 carts is? TIA

I can't tell from the markings.

Those are aluminum electrolytic capacitors.

As far as markings go looks like a 10uf@16v. I'm not sure. RJ and MKL should know.

Sweet. Is there any advantage to having the aluminum ones?

Over what? It seems to me you're calling it aluminum because of the external case but that's what surface mount electrolytic cap look like. Aluminum refers to the dielectric and yes, that's an aluminum cap just like the through hole ones on MVS mobos etc.

Forgot they were surface mount, I don't know why.

I think he is asking if there is an advantage to having aluminum caps over tantalum.

I wouldn't go tantalum. They like to short out and burn up boards when they die.
