I was in the same boat and recently picked up a copy for my NGCD. The load times aren't bad, seems to me to be less than 20 seconds while playing.

I won a mint condition Twinkle Star Sprites off eBay for $57 shipped:buttrock:

I am very happy with the purchase!

Also don't forget the DC port which some rate as the best version of them all.

I have DC, Saturn, NeoCD. Saturn is certainly the best overall. Besides the original arcade mode, there is also "Saturn Mode." Every character (including bosses) have a true story mode. It also has an original character unique to the Saturn. Saturn mode also has full voice overs for the cut-scenes, some redrawn character sprites, and some unique background effects, all new FMV intro. And it's a 2 disc set. Disc 2 is all "omake," it has a shit load of artwork, interviews, tons of stuff if your a fan.

The DC version is a cheap arcade port, has nothing special besides being slowdown free. Plus it only runs in 480i, looks like shit compared to 240p RGB from the Saturn, NCD versions.

Well, the DC also has arranged music and looks ace on my RGB monitor, no complaints from me here.

My personal fave of all available version is the NGCD one, that's what I play the most when I need a TSS fix.

I also love the fact that I can use the same joystick on the NGCD as I can with my cmvs, making TSS that much better.

None of my Saturn/DC sticks are as good as my Neo's.

I can upgrade those sticks but it was cheaper to just get the NGCD TSS for the moment.:)

I have a Neo-to-DC adaptor (mod'ed standard DC pad) that I bought via ebay so I can use all my Neo sticks and pads on DC. Makes playing the SNK ports much more fun.

Just for the sake of completion, I'll mention that the sequel for PS2 includes a rom of the original as a bonus.
