LA/SoCal members, how about it?

Hi I would like to host a gathering once I've moved to Socal. I am in the market for a condo/townhouse in the LA area specifically in the Reseda/Winnetka/Canoga Park area and am thinking of holding a gathering. I am open to a big one or even if just a few people show up for some casual gaming. Like I said I am still looking for a place but should be getting one in the next few months. I just wanted to start the conversation now to make sure people are willing to show up and get to know each other now here on the boards. I have met many/most of the Socal members here when I went to the gathering at Mike's (Droid) place back in September of 2006 and would love to have another one once I get my new place which like I said I should be there in the next few months as we are aggressively looking for a place. I just need to settle in and get all my stuff organized, and then we can talk about a date for the gathering. I am serious about this and want it to work out. If any of you LA/SoCal members read this let others know and we can start talking about it now. Oh and I have enough hardware for a gathering, but would be happy if people also brought some.

Like I said I was at Droid's gathering back in 06. Hey, Mike if you see this give me a holler and pass the word around. Would love to be the host of a gathering. I don't care if it's "the Neo Geo gathering of the year" or if just a few people show up. Would just love to game with some members. Peace.

I would come, it's always fun to kick back, and play some fighters. Do you only have a neo cab, or maybe a cps2 setup or something?

Here's the latest. We have an offer that got accepted, and we need to send a check asap to the escrow to show that we are really serious about the offer. Hopefully this works out. It's a townhouse on Reseda Blvd.

As far as what I have, I have two candy cabs: a Neo 29" and a Capcom Impress. I have 3 superguns, a MAS, a Raijin, and a homemade one that I got from a member here. I have 2 AES systems, one of which is modded with the Unibios. As far as MVS goes I have a 1,2, and 4 slot. I also have a Hyper 64 with Fatal Fury Wild Ambition and the 2 Samurai Showdown games. I also have a Consolized Atomiswave with 3 games. I also have various other PCBs mostly side scrollers/beat em ups. And I have a CPS2 board, and STV board but no games. I would love it if people would bring games that I don't have like other fighting games for the Atomiswave as I only have NGBC and Ruble Fish 2 or Buriki One for the Hyper if anyone has it. Oh, and I forgot CPS 2 and STV games would definitely be welcomed as I mentioned above.


I also am the owner of A LOT of home systems; I won't bother to list them. Though of the current generation I only have a 360.

Oh, and the monitor of one of my cabs got busted and would appreciate it if anyone could fix it. I know Stuffmonger is good at these things, but when I went to his profile I saw that he hasn't logged in in months. I would appreciate it if a member in the area can help me out as I am not too tech savvy. I'd ideally love to get it fixed before we have a gathering.

I don't know if it needs a fuse or flux capacitor. I have no idea about the brand. When I have my place and I'm settled in, I would really love it if someone can come over and look at it, and work on it.

Well, I'm new to the whole arcade scene, but I'm okay with a soldering iron. If someone knows what to do exactly, I would love to help.

That's a cool idea. It would entail other members willing to host. And I had to look up what 420 friendly means which isn't a good sign and I can tell you I am certainly not that. I have been around people before that have smoked weed and did cocaine around me and I can tell you I have never touched the stuff.

Would definitely be interested in a SoCal get together as well. Been over to Voltronbadass's gameroom a couple times now and it's beginining to feel like a second home. I'm always interested in meeting up with some fellow gamers. When you're ready, let us know.

Loegan43 here is 420 friendly

although he does not partake in 420 type activities

He does hold his liquor well, might be able to drink me under the table, though that is still to be determined

I happily offer my gameroom in riverside up as a meeting place also

You better make sure there is an officiall meet up when i come to visit or your ass is grass buddy.

Here's the latest. We sent in the final payment for our unit today. We're cash buyers. So it's just a matter of officially closing and getting the keys. It's at 7641 Reseda Blvd. Pretty soon I'll finally be livin' in SoCal!!!! Once I get moved in and settled we can start throwing around dates for when we are going to do this. And if anyone just wants to come over on a Saturday or whatnot for some casual gaming I am open to that even if only one or two people may want to come over. Again I want to get settled first then we can game!!

I'm from San Diego, and I could possible partake in this if the date were right. But dont schedule this thing around me.

Thanks!!! We got it for a steal at $115000 on a short sale. The previous owner bought it at $345000. The value of the property at one time peaked at $445000. The previous owner just left two weeks after we closed, and I had officially bought it. We're thankful it didn't have to go to the sheriff. I should be there before the year is out as I have to move my stuff from here over there with my mom's help.

One of these days, I'll have to hold another meet as well (still need to change out the wiring in my house... I'm working on it). I'll try to keep up to date with this thread so I may be able to make it. Got lots of hardware I could bring.




Also, you 420 guys really ought to stop, or get a vasectomy if it's not too late already. Weed makes your sperm retarded, and inhibits your parenting skills (My rant of the day).

Oh wow, you responded to my thread and kept it alive. Good going!!!! I got your message. I will definitely contact you when I'm in town so you can look at my cab. I most certainly want to have it fixed before we get a gathering going. When I'm in town and have settled in, we should seriously start talking about this gathering. Yeah stuffmonger you should come over to this. Need to get everything set up first. And do you think you can get the old crew together? I believe my place has a guest room where we could hold the gathering instead of just holding it inside my place which means we will have more space. Thanks again for your help. I'll give you a holler when I'm in town so you could take a look at my cab.

I bought a house in long beach, bought a new car, and have been spending most of my time either with the girl, working, or fixing up the house. Haven't gamed it up much in the past few years to be honest.


As for getting together the old group, I only really talk to Droid and matsu often. Could see about getting in touch with some of the guys I talk to less frequently too, I guess. We'd need a solid date though first. I know droid at least, has a wife, 2 kids, and lots of work coming up.
