please help aes mod chip question (arcade version)

i purchased a mod chip from arcade about four months ago. i have not yet installed it, but it has been removed from the static proof bag once or twice for examination. i was just wondering if this would have effected the chip or not. it may sound like a stupid question to some, but in my opinion its better to be safe than sorry. i wouldnt want to mod my aes with a ruined chip. so anyways any helpful response would be greatly appreciated. thankyou prosper1ne

the chip's not supposed to leave the plastic bag under any circumstances!

however, I suggest you not to directly solder the modchip to the neo-geo motherboard
do not even solder the chip over the existing one

just buy a 40pin socket and solder it where the original bios is: the advantage is that you'll be able to restore the original bios should you need it
