Z80 Error, What is it?

Im just wondering what a Z80 Error error is on a MVS motherboard and how to fix it?

the Z80 is used for sound in most cases if I am not mistaken.
I suppose you could always soldier a new one on the board.
But as cheap as mvs boards are I would just pick up another one , before I went through the headaches of trying to fix it.

Ask Briggs , or Revquixo they would probably know plenty about this.

The Z80 error is when the sound CPu no longer responds. Several chips can cause this.

z80
6116 sound RAM
SM1 sound ROM
Neo-B0

For some reason, the YM2610 has NEVER caused a Z80 error in all my years...

(as a hint, if you have no sound, check the /IRQ line on the YM2610. If its staying low, the YM2610 is bad....)

If the cart's dirty it can cause error as well.
