Wow, there may be a legit reason to charge my PSP this year! Of course, Atlus delivers again, thanks for the heads up.

This game is out, but I can't find it anywhere here in Las Vegas. Has anyone picked up a copy in their parts?

I would've had it yesterday except Gamestop took pre-orders late, so I will probably get it from Amazon in about a week.

Finally got info out of the GS near my apartment. Looks like the holiday biffed their shipments, so they'll get it tomorrow hopefully. Found an ISO, so I'll give it a shot tonight and see if it's worth committing to a buy.

So I started playing and wandered around and randomly beat up guys.

Supposedly, you're supposed to beat up random guys, get their itineraries to find out where the bosses (banchos) are.

Feels kind of stiff in fights; the combos you unleash don't seem as fluid as most beat em ups. Supposedly, it has some social aspects.

Has a pretty good/funny script/localization.

It is said to take 7 hours to beat, but has New Game + and multiple playthroughs.

Had this in my hands today and put it back. Anyone get any deeper into this and enjoy it?

I LOVE this game.

Building up your character is so much fun, and there are tons of small touches, secrets and humor that make it enjoyable. One example - after you build up your rating and beat other banchos, tough guys will start bowing to you in the street instead of trying to fight you! :lolz:

This is one of those great, unusual games that will never get proper recognition in the media. But I think a lot of gamers will love it if they try it. Especially NeoGeo people, because hey - at the end of the day it's really an oldschool beat-em-up at its roots.

Also - about the fighting being stiff - yeah, it is in the beginning. But as you collect moves, you can design your own move sets and the game starts to play better. Think of it as a 3D Final Fight, but you can basically create your own character, and constantly customize how he looks, fights etc.

I find it very difficult to find your way around in this game. Why can't they relate the bus/subway routes to the general map?

I've still got my eye on this and it's good to hear it's solid, but can't do $40 for a portable game, don't know why. I'll be waiting a little on this.
