Well the powere supply had to be adjusted because it wasnt putting out +5V, The thing will not even out on the 12V and -5v.. the 12V is outputting like less than 11 + -5 is like less than -4 but I figured better to have the 5v be dead on. After I adjusted the power supply the picture stoped jumping around but I still have faint screen crawl where there is a band moving up the screen constanly. Any ideas how to solve this- I thought that heat might be a factor but I played the thing for like an hour with the lid closed and it wasn't that warm? maybe the power supply is to close to the rgb to ntsc convertor and is causing distortion? Should I try sheilding the power supply or convertor and how would I go about doing this. Also can the supernova be adjusted- for the vertical + horizontal- When playing Neo the screen if offset to the right alittle

http://www.radioshack.com/category .asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F003%5F006%5F004%5F000&Page=1

so these are all 12V fans? Some look like they have 3 wires and some 2, could you guys recomend a fan for the supernova and tell me how to hook it up? 12V line to the power supply and ground the other would be my guess- but what about the third wire?
Thanks!
-Nick

The third wire is used to monitor fan speed in a PC , so when you plug it onto the header on a mobo you get the speed reading in the bios.

They can be used without it , or you can just get a standard 2 wire 12 volt fan.

As for wireing it up I have no clue , but dont see why you couldnt just come off of the 12 volt line on the power supply , shouldnt be all that hard. I did the same thing on my Neo cabinet from the power supply.

When I got my Super Nova, I had to jumper the resistor (?) that is associated with the V Sync pin on the Board's JAMMA connector. I am using a 4slot MVS.

It was a really simple process. Take the board apart, and on the bottom board, what you do is take a multimeter and apply it to pin "P" (I THINK it was "P", check the JAMMA connections page on HARD MVS) then apply the other end of the multimeter to each resistor on the bottom board. When you get the reading of 0 (zero), you know you've found the associated resistor. Take a piece of wire, solder the wire to the metal piece of the resistor. Do this to both sides of the resistor. This should fix the "jumping screen".

The problem, if it's the same problem I experienced, is that the V-Sync can be adjusted easily on an arcade monitor. This isn't the case with a TV. Jumpering the resistor sends out the strongest signal possible (I think).

If this doesn't fix the problem, just cut the wire and it's no longer jumpered, nothing lost, nothing gained.

If this doesn't make sense, call the Tech Support for the Super Nova and the guy will walk you through the problem resolution. I thought my Super Nova was fucked when I plugged my board into it, but when I called their Tech Support the dude knew EXACTLY what the problem was. He even offered to fix it for me for free, so long as I paid shipping to and back.

I've never found a way to center the image on the screen. It's a bit off on the right side of the screen, but never makes gameplay suffer since it's only off by a little bit.

If you find out how to center the image, PLEASE let me know.

Thanks slerch666! I was trying to get ahold of sales and tech but all I get is an answering machine that doesn't even identify MAS, just a Beep. I called at 2 pm. I'll try back in the morning I guess.

My SuperNova had a hum bar (or whatever you call it... a thin light colored band moving up the screen). Removing the field ground from the power supply (and taping it off) cleared it right up.

Yeah, it's the ground from the power supply. It must have been causing some interference.
