Monitor burn in

Hi there. Is there anything that can be done about minor monitor burn in? I'm thinking not but I thought I'd ask. Thanks for any help in advance:mr_t:

Nope, its permanent damage, all you can do is forget about it, or switch the tube.

Yeah. I have heard about his problem as well. It sucks, but there is no solution other than replacement.

Thanks, what do I need to know to switch monitors? I have a 20" monitor and can I get any 20" replacement or does it need to be a specific one?

If its minor burn-in you could also swith the cabinet glass to a smoked glass.

Once the images are burned into the monitor (known as phosper burns), there's nothing that can be done. Virtually all of the old games have them since many of the attract modes and game play contained stationary items on the screen (PacMan, score and health bars on fighting games, credit word in the corner, etc.) Later games have more movement to them to slow down the effects. Good thing the LCD screens don't have issues with this.
