I've always really loved this game despite the insanely broken damag (which, admittedly, some see as a really cool aspect), and I've owned the Saturn port since it was released. With the 4 meg cart the game plays well enough.

But I'm the kind of guy that just can't completely immerse myself in playing a Neo Geo game unless I'm actually playing it ON the Neo, with the stick.

The question I have for you fine folks here at Neo-Geo.com, who are the only motherfuckers on the planet I'd trust to ask this, is:

How much would you pay for SS 3 for AES? Thoughts?

Here in Japan, I bought mine about 6 months ago in a store for about $25. USA prices are usually about double, so maybe $50-60? In Europe it seems like prices are 3x-4x Japanese prices. I'll let you do the math.

I myself got a really good deal on mine. I got the first three as kits for a $55 game. I would go with what Deadite said and not go over 25 for it.

Psst, ratson

TonK updated the MVS not home system.:make_fac:

Yeah, and even when you look at the AES side of the pricing, it's still a little steep for a game I can play right now. The guide is nice to look as a guideline but I'm going for more of a 'pulse of the peeps' here.

Thanks for the suggestion thought, Ratson:)

In ALL honesty, the price for SS3 JPN here in the US has held STEADY at the $55-$60 mark for the past 7-8 years, IMO. Yes, you can pick one up in the streets of Tokyo, etc for $25, BUT the trick is always exporting, a $23 venture with EMS.

Based on my experience, for a JPN version, it looks like:
- anything below 40USD would be a good price
- between 40 and 60USD is a fair price, units are easy to find at that price level so you pay that little premium
- above 60USD, then that's expensive

Just as everyone has said here I think you should aim to get one for about $50-55 shipped via airmail if it's complete and in good shape. The game is not hard to find by any means and if you email some of the larger sellers out of Japan on eBay there is a fair chance they can set you up a good deal on one.

Yeah I picked up mine for either 55 or 65 US dollars shipped, can't remember. That's JP version of course.

I bought my US version brand new overstock from NCSX for $150 back in 2002. It still is in that condition. I still feel it was worth it.

Maybe it's because of the AES price guide that US and Europe buyers pay 2x to 4x Japanese prices.

No, it's like this with all imports, has nothing to do with the price guide. Japanese games aren't native to those regions, they have to be shipped, import taxes, middle-men, etc. Just look a Famicom Disk System hardware prices. In Japan they are dirt cheap, the ebay prices are a sick joke.
