Feel free to move this guys :)

I know that a lot of occassional US readers have been put off by Retro Gamer's high price.

Anyway, as of next issue you'll be able to buy RG from the likes of Borders and Barnes and Nobles for just $10

On top of this a subscription for 13 issues will cost you just $80, far cheaper than the previous offer.

To get this great deal just head to www.imaginesubs/RET and type in YOUTUBE in capital letters.

Great to hear! How long is this rate going to be available?

Also, here's the correct link:
http://imaginesubs.co.uk/RET

Btw, upon going to the page, it still shows the following in the price list form:

USA 13 issues £80.00

Thanks, just subscribed. Also note that the price is listed incorrectly on the thank you page as well.
(it's also listed as 80.00GBP on the email receipt, so I should probably watch for the correct transaction total)

As I've said I've made subs aware, so you may want to double check with them as well :)

I was debating to sub but after that whole Metal Slug ordeal I decided not to.

People need to realize that when a system like the Neo is supported for 14 years the fans like to learn the history behind the hardware and software.

Most other consoles are only supported for not more than 5-7 years.

I would have loved to read an article with some good new info about how Nazca decided to go from making a Submarine shooting game to a WW type game and what was involved to make it happen. And why they decided to sell/transfer the IP to SNK.

That's just me.

Just subbed. Thanks for the link!

Games magazines like this deserve to stay in business!

I also can't wait for the return of EGM with original founder Steve Harris at the helm. Some things are just better to see in print than read from a monitor, etc.. It's hard to explain, but I enjoy reading it from print.

I think I'll pass. From the few issues I've picked up it's just too inconsistent.

I look at people that pay for game mag subscriptions in the same vain I look at lonely men that pay for porno mags at a filth shop.

Friends + Internet. Look into it.

The Gaming Journalist is a myth.

Gotta agree with that. When the new team took over, a few years ago, the quality didn't seem to carry through.

I can't really judge an entire gaming magazine based on a single article. I have read a lot of their older issues and feel the other guys know their gaming history and the writing makes for an entertaining read. Currently better than anything we have in the states.

But it's not just about one article. It's about inconsistency and a lack of integrity to put out quality content. Instead, they put out a retro mag with misinformation and poor writing. Sure, you could make the argument it's better than nothing, but I won't support a magazine who can't even get the facts straight about topics it proclaims to be knowledgeable in.

They could provide me with a free copy and I wouldn't even bother. When Wikipedia is a better and more true source of information then this rag, it's laughable.

Located in US here. Is the magazine so expensive just because it is made overseas? Or is it really that expensive locally too?

I was about to ask the same question. The magazine always looks good, just too rich for me.

I'll pass, too. The Metal Slug article was one reason, but I read a recent article regarding Final Fantasy. It was really... not that good at all. I kept asking myself if the writer ever played any of the games.

I would pick up issue 70 if the problem of it not existing in the bay area didn't exist and I refuse to go to anymore stores...

as i understand it, it's usually the overseas part. tends not to be especially cheap to ship crates of magazines across the ocean, i guess (any look through a magazine rack will indicate a huge price difference between the local and import version of the 'same' magazine). the latest anthology, for example, goes for $33ish in canada when it's only 10 pounds in the uk. yep, ouch.
