Yup you do indeed Kern, the game is just awesome. Someday I will get to play it in all it's hi-res glory. You borrowing it from someone?

Yeah man borrowing it from a mate on AO - just looks so lovely in high res.

You should come down sometime and play some CPS2/Neo and drink some beer ;)

Lol, no doubt though I don't drink anymore. Well I used to be a casual drinker but I just decided to stop all together.

who's your main character?

I have been messing around with Thouther/Souther and Kenshiro.

I don't know as of yet, I'm not really that good with any of them, Shin is pretty cool though.

That monitor looks sharp kern. I've heard so many good things about Hokuto no Ken but have yet to play it. It's one of the only Atomiswave games I still want to pick up.

If I got a motherboard one day I'd probably pick up a few cheapies on it, but I'd ignore the KOFs, so that wouldn't leave much else I guess. heeh

Save your money you are correct this is the only good game on the AW and what a great game it is...

I had about eight of the others and they were all bad especially Metal Slug and Dolphin Blue.

I like the first Rumble fish , thought it was ok once you got used to the games mechanics, looks sweet too.Demolish fist is ok too but once you've gone through it once it doesn't make you want to play again, unlike something like, A vs P .

I like Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, Knights of Valor: The Seven Spirits and Guilty Gear X 1.5. Got them all pretty cheap.

I realised the atomiswave motherboard has a jumper on the front, and that picture above is actually running at low res :emb:

I've got it running in high res now, and oh my god it looks stunning.

I might take a picture tomorra :tickled:

Quite right about Metal Slug, but Dolphin Blue is top notch. Don't know what game you were playing. Those two games shouldn't even be in the same sentence unless it includes a phrase like "Metal Slug 6 blows BUT...".

Seriously, Dolphin Blue and Knights of Valor are the highlights of the Atomiswave catalog in my opinion. FotNS and KOFXI are right behind them only because they got decent ports.

Nothing beats FotNS in HD though. Sadly I have a U.S. atomiswave cab, but it's only SD.:crying:

dolphin blue looked great, but was boring.
built on the metal slug formula, but lacking the soul.

Well, I don't know whether the game has found Jesus or not, but it's definitely not boring. ;) My guess is you played it on default difficulty (4). Metal Slug vets will probably be bored; I know when I first played it I was also underwhelmed. It's a fairly long game for a run-n-gun and on default doesn't get intense until stage 4 (and these are long stages).

It's really necessary to bump the difficulty up to 6,7, or 8. When you do, it plays like a new game. On 7-8, it's intense from stage 1. Bullet patterns/grenade patterns a lot more dense; bosses take a pounding instead of wilting away.

If you have a chance, give it another go on a harder difficulty (if you haven't already). I think you'll be surprised.

Metal Slug 6 never happened. Or at least I wish that was the case.
