Look at the board. I can understand this game was bootlegged quite a bit, but I don't think I've ever seen one with every single rom slot filled. Are they even socketed? :conf:

I was also planning on buying something else this seller has for sale, but doing some research on this forum makes me weary. ...Guys name is Bill Burger?

Yay or Nay?

Plenty of threads on him, avoid at all costs. I picked up an MVS game from him some time ago, but that's about it. I'd never risk buying a board from him.

Ive done numerous deals with Bill in the past and never really had a problem. Never got a boot or anything not as described in the listing. Some poeple had communication problems with him in the past, I personally have never experianced them.

Also, "SOMEONE TURNED THIS MAGIC SWORD BOARD INTO A NICE WORKING S/F 2 CHAMPION video game pcb" kinda gives away the fact it didnt start life as a SFIICE.

I've heard from both sides: either people had no probs with Bill or had nothing but probs. There doesn't seem to be a happy medium with him.

When you deal with this guy you are just rolling the dice.
I've had 2 good transactions but after reading the horror stories of others I'm not taking my chances again. Third time might be the charm.

This really sums it up. Sure, there are good transactions, but it's been proven multiple times that if you get a non-working board, you are SOL. Do you want to take that risk, or would you rather purchase from another seller? If the deal seems good enough, it may be worth the risk.

Yeah but what has me confused is that if I took a magic sword board and I wanted to convert it into SF2CE, I'd remove all of those roms and replace them with about 10 or so SF roms - that particular board is completely filled with roms. :conf:

I don't recall seeing any CPS1 games that had every rom slot filled. I know that HSF2 on a CPS2 board fills up all the rom slots, but I never saw a CPS1 filled. And thank you guys, for the reassurance about Bill. :)

If he messed with the jumper settings he could use smaller, cheaper chips instead of larger more expensive original chips.

Very interesting Mitsurugi, I never knew the CPS1 could do that - but it makes sense, as I believe the CPS2 can as well.

Good thinking :)
