First of all, which one is newer? I've read several sources saying that Astro II is newer and others that say New Astro is newer. Does anyone have a definite answer on this?

Second, I'm interested in both cabs but the medium res from the New Astro's doesn't really appeal to me at all. I'm most interested in sound and build quality. I read that the Astro II's came with Bose speakers and the speakers for Astro II's do appear significantly larger than New Astro's. I've also read that New Astro's with the stereo amp sound really good. Does anyone have a preference in sound between the two?

Lastly, I will running mostly Qsound games and I have a Qsound amplifier and transformer to place in either cab. Would this amplifier be compatible in either cab?

Thanks,

NOAH

I believe the Astro II is newer. The speakers in the Astro/New Astro are not that great and pail in comparison to the egret IIs closed box speakers. I myself prefer aesthetics over anything else, hence my preference for the original Astro City and it's flush speaker grill design.

I understand it's a mono cab, but would the Qsound amp and transformer be compatible in it?

Noah, the Qsound amp and transformer are compatible in any cabinet that has a power supply and a 12v line. You'll be good.

Will probably require some modification of the existing wiring to the speakers but that is a piece of cake.

That's what I figured, wanted to make sure though. Thanks for the help.
