I purchased Real Bout 2 recently and while it works perfectly, I'm wondering if it does something different than most non Giga-Power MVS carts. It's the first giga game I've ever owned on MVS or AES so my question is this:
When I power on my cab, I get the UniBIOS splash, then I get the Neo-Geo boot up video. You know how for some games the music in the boot video is different from others As an example, the tune is played differently from the ADK games and the SNK games. Its the same tune, just sounds a bit different. Because of this, I can tell which game is getting the 'first in line' treatment.
If I have RB2 in Slot 1, its as if the boot sequence skips directly to Slot 2. Once I get to a game screen in Slot 2, I can then select Slot 3, then 4, then go back to 1, BUT instead of giving me a title screen for the game in Slot 1, the system sort of does a 'soft' reboot, meaning I get the Neo Geo intro video again, this time of course it says GIGA POWER instead of Max 330 Mega. Then if I move RB2 to Slot 2 or 3 or 4, then boot up is normal, I get the Neo Geo screen, get to the game screen and then if I switch to whatever slot RB2 is in, I get the Neo Geo screen again with GIGA POWER.
Is this common? In fact, to show a better example, I've taken a video. In this vid, here is my 4 slot config:
1: World Heroes 2 Jet
2. Real Bout 2
3. KOF97
4. Samurai Shodown II
video
Anyway, I can live with this if the Giga Power games do that if it is normal and happens to every Giga Game (or every Real Bout 2 cart), I just have never really noticed it. But if they DON'T do that, what could be causing this issue?
