My old style Joystick will not move up

I unpacked my console from storage from my move and, i went to boot up some ss4 and i noticed that i can not jump, so i went to the select a fighter menu and tried selecting up and it wont move up there either, so i plugged in the other stick and it worked fine.

Is there something that might be dirty, or do i need to replace the stick, wires??

all the other directions worked fine as well as the ABCD buttons

Yeah...

Could be a stuck switch, broken lead, or something like that. Just post some pics if you open up and can't find something that jumps out at you. I've seen some where the wires that start to run into the chord are detached so you might have to check those.
